Primavera Strikes Gold: Colombo wins the Snai Sport GOTM of September!
Chosen by Nerazzurri fans through our social media
After missing out on the opening round of the season, Atalanta Primavera bounced back in style, stealing the entire spotlight in September’s GOTM Snai Sport. A one-two finish made all the more impressive by an edition that raised the bar considerably, with a larger, fiercer field of contenders and the added challenge of a group stage to navigate. Yet it was Matteo Colombo and Dion Cakolli who passed both tests with flying colours, topping their respective groups and leaving some far more established names trailing in their wake.
Having taken very different routes to the final, with Colombo cruising through his group and Cakolli squeezing through by the narrowest of margins, the two youngsters found themselves battling for September gold in a final with a perfect Ringkomposition. At opposite ends of the ring stood the first and last Atalanta goals in the Primavera Super Cup against Fiorentina.
From teammates in triumph at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera to rivals in the GOTM showdown: in an all-Primavera derby, it was Matteo Colombo who came out on top to claim September gold.
Dion Cakolli took the runner-up spot, followed by Éderson and Gianluca Scamacca, who finished second in their respective groups.

GROUP A, Runner-up: Éderson dos Santos, Roma 1-2 Atalanta, 2026/27 Serie A Enilive MD3
From narrowly missing out on top spot to falling just short of the final, a single percentage point proved decisive for Éderson dos Santos in Group A. Nominated for his goal at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma, the Nerazzurri captain secured 33% of the vote to finish runner-up in a fiercely contested group, with all three candidates separated by just two percentage points. A razor-thin margin that was enough to keep Federico Steffanoni, back in contention after his August silver medal, at bay, but not quite enough to clinch the first ticket to the final.
GROUP B, Runner-up: Gianluca Scamacca, Atalanta 1-2 Cagliari, 2026/27 Serie A Enilive MD4 (32%)
On the other side of the draw, Group B produced a similar outcome, albeit with much wider margins. Completing September’s virtual podium is Gianluca Scamacca, nominated for his goal against Cagliari. While Éderson had edged out Steffanoni by a single percentage point, the Nerazzurri number nine enjoyed a far more comfortable cushion over Sergej Levak, securing second place in Group B with little trouble. Standing in his way, however, was once again the Primavera: Matteo Colombo’s commanding performance in the polls left Scamacca with no room for a comeback, confining him to the runner-up spot in his group.
Runner-up: Dion Cakolli, Fiorentina 3-4 Atalanta, 2026/27 Primavera Super Cup
From a photo-finish victory in Group A to the runner-up spot in the final, Dion Cakolli wrapped up his September GOTM Snai Sport campaign with XX% of the vote, falling just short at the last hurdle after a closely contested run through the polls.
His nomination, however, was born out of just eight minutes: all it took for Cakolli to turn his introduction from the bench into one of the defining moments of the Primavera Super Cup against Fiorentina. Brought on in the 73rd minute, the 2007-born youngster barely had time to find his feet before stealing the spotlight. Come the 81st minute, a stunning free-kick curled straight into the top corner made it 4-2 and put Atalanta firmly in the driving seat. A textbook super-sub impact, with a moment of brilliance that rendered Fiorentina’s last-gasp effort in the 90th minute little more than a consolation, as the Super Cup headed back to Bergamo for the third time in the Nerazzurri’s history.
Atalanta Primavera lifted the Super Cup for the third time in their history after a thrilling, hard-fought final packed with goals and drama at the Arena Civica “Gianni Brera” in Milan. Coach Bosi’s Nerazzurri claimed the trophy with a 4-3 victory over reigning Italian champions Fiorentina.
Winner: Matteo Colombo, Fiorentina 3-4 Atalanta, 2026/27 Primavera Super Cup
If his 49% share of the vote in Group B had already hinted at a golden ending, the final delivered the ultimate verdict: Matteo Colombo is September’s Snai Sport GOTM winner. An unbeaten run that traces its origins back to the Arena Civica Gianni Brera, where the young Nerazzurro had applied the first brushstroke to a Primavera Super Cup destined to be painted in Atalanta colours.
It was Colombo’s moment of brilliance that had opened Atalanta’s scoring against Fiorentina, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter that ended 4-3 and handed the Nerazzurri their third triumph in the competition. And so, having opened the scoring on that Milan night, Colombo also has the final say in September’s vote, putting his name right at the top of the standings.
