Nicola Beati: “It’s the first step on a long journey, we need to keep working”

Nicola Beati reflected on the defeat to Vado: “I was a little concerned about our approach because the game is a bit quicker on an artificial pitch and they were certainly more used to it, as well as always starting games very aggressively. Instead, we started well and were taking the game in the right direction. I’m disappointed that we conceded during our best spell because it made us lose our confidence and we became disorganised: that mustn’t happen. We need to stay focused and keep doing the work we prepared during the week.

At half-time, we tried to make a better start to the second half by adjusting a few things. In fact, we controlled the second half. I also put four forwards on together to give the team a psychological boost, but it wasn’t enough. This defeat is the first step on a long journey: we’ll keep working and strive to do better”.
