International Duty: Scamacca on target for Italy

Of the 12 Atalanta representatives called up for the September/October international window, five Nerazzurri were in action on Monday 5 October.

Starting with Italy’s 3-1 win over Türkiye, Gianluca Scamacca made his mark by opening the scoring in Bologna. The Atalanta striker played the opening 55 minutes, while Marco Carnesecchi and Giorgio Scalvini were unused substitutes

Over in Saint-Denis, Charles De Ketelaere came off the bench in the 70th minute as Belgium suffered a 4-1 defeat away to France. Nikola Krstović, meanwhile, played the full 90 minutes as Montenegro were held to a goalless draw by Armenia.

The night was rounded off by an all-Atalanta international match-up between Sead Kolašinac and Nicola Zalewski. Both started and went the distance for their respective national teams, with Kolašinac captaining Bosnia and Herzegovina to a 1-0 win over Poland.

The Nerazzurri’s September/October international window will draw to a close tomorrow, Tuesday 6 October, with Mario Pašalić and Eljif Elmas the final two Atalanta representatives in action. Pašalić’s Croatia host Spain in Split, while Elmas and North Macedonia travel to Lucerne to take on Switzerland.
