Atalanta v Parma: pre-match notes
Stories and trivia ahead of our home clash with the Ducali
November kicks off at the New Balance Arena. Atalanta will open the new month in front of their home crowd as the Nerazzurri host Parma on Monday 2 November in the Matchday 10 late fixture of the 2026/27 Serie A Enilive season, setting the stage for another busy run of domestic and European commitments.
The opening chapter of the month will therefore be dedicated to the meeting with the Ducali. Ahead of kick-off, let's delve into the stories, stats and head-to-head record behind Atalanta v Parma.
A Tale of Two Matchday 10s
Two divisions, almost four decades apart, and one common thread: Matchday 10. Atalanta and Parma have met twice in Bergamo on the tenth matchday of a league season, with both encounters ending in Nerazzurri victories and clean sheets.
The first came on 18 November 1979, in the 1979/80 Serie B season, when Giovanni Scala struck in the 80th minute to seal a 1-0 win. The second followed on 27 October 2018, this time in Serie A: an own goal from Iacoponi and strikes from Palomino and Mancini secured a 3-0 victory over the Gialloblù.
A five-star Monday
The only previous Atalanta v Parma played on a Monday in Bergamo remains a particularly fond memory for the Nerazzurri. On 6 January 2020, in Matchday 18 of the 2019/20 Serie A season, Atalanta opened the new year with a commanding 5-0 victory over the Gialloblù, recording one of their biggest home wins against Parma.
On Epiphany Day, goals from Gómez, Freuler and Gosens gave the Nerazzurri a three-goal lead at half-time, before Iličić completed the rout with a second-half brace.
The Magnificent Seven of 1932
To find an even bigger home win over Parma, however, we have to turn the clock back almost 88 years, to 17 January 1932. On that day, in Matchday 16 of the 1931/32 Serie B season, Atalanta swept aside the Ducali 7-0 in a goalfest that began almost immediately: Bedetti struck after just 15 seconds, followed by Panzeri in the 25th minute, Sanero in the 29th and 38th, and Panzeri again in the 39th. Five goals before half-time, with Panzeri and Sanero adding another apiece in the 58th and 68th minutes to complete the rout, both finishing with hat-tricks.
The victory remains Atalanta's biggest home win over Parma and is also tied for the largest winning margin in the club's home history.
The Nerazzurri had already recorded the same scoreline against Udinese on 27 September 1931 and would repeat the feat against Spezia on 4 December 1932, both in Serie B. Three record-breaking victories in the space of just over fourteen months, all of which still share the distinction of being Atalanta's biggest-ever home wins.
