Nicola Beati: "These Matches Help Us Gain Experience"

Speaking after the match against Spezia, head coach Nicola Beati commented: “We're working on maintaining our concentration and intensity right through to the final whistle. In the past, being such a young team, we tended to play in bursts, especially early on. Today, despite a few lapses in concentration and some rushed decisions in attack, we put in a good performance. It's a shame about the result because the lads deserved something to show for their efforts, but we went toe-to-toe with the league leaders, and that gives us plenty of encouragement for the future.”

On Spezia and the match itself: “It was interesting to study Spezia in our preparations because they play an expansive, attractive and attacking brand of football. We matched them blow for blow, so I think it was an entertaining game for the spectators too. Of course, that doesn't make the result any easier to take: we have to leave the pitch with a bitter taste in our mouths. Still, the fact that we managed to compete like that against the league leaders makes me proud.”
