Flemish Aura: De Ketelaere is the Lete POTM of November!
Crowned by the Nerazzurri fans on the official Atalanta app
A total De Ketelaere: in November, CDK was “promethean,” capable of igniting the initial spark and then establishing himself as the leading torchbearer of Atalanta’s revival. Performances that, after lighting up the pitch, earned him the POTM Lete!
Podium finishers: an on-the-rise Ademola Lookman and last month’s champion Marco Carnesecchi.
And in celebrating the peak of Sir Charles, we start with his akmé, which for the Belgian came in the clash against Fiorentina—a climactic finale to his standout November. Thanks, but not only, to his personal duel with De Gea—despite being denied the joy of a goal—CDK claimed the MVP title: the team’s offensive beacon with 5 shots on target, the creative engine with 27 completed passes from 33, and the first to track back and patrol his own half, ranking as the third most active player on the move and the top attacker for defensive contribution with 5 recoveries. In short, a 360-degree performance that, combined with his goal for the 3-0 win in Frankfurt and the assist for Lookman—his “frenemy” in this edition of POTM—earned him a well-deserved first place for November.
After finishing third in October, the title race saw none other than Ademola Lookman in the mix, the co-star of November’s resurgence (no offense to Gianluca Scamacca in fourth, who scored the first goal of Atalanta’s “new era” and was only denied further glory by the woodwork). Once again, Lookman played the “second fiddle” alongside CDK—who edged him out for Man of the Match on points. In Frankfurt, Mola powered the famous six minutes of madness: first the goal that lit the spark for the Nerazzurri’s onslaught, then the assist for Ederson’s second. And then came Bergamo, where Lookman put the game to bed against Fiorentina, scoring his second goal in five days and, notably, his sixth against the Gigliati, his favorite victims. After last month’s hint, the confirmation arrived loud and clear: “Lookman is back”—not just on the pitch, but also on the POTM podium.
Rounding out the podium is the outgoing Player of the Month and the undisputed master of the Lete-branded contest so far this season: Marco Carnesecchi! Amid the challenges of Udine and the clash with Sassuolo, Atalanta’s No. 29 maintained a level of consistency that outweighed the burden of results, finding a reprieve in the clean sheet during the Marseille interlude—a much-needed break in the toughest stretch of the campaign. In Naples, despite a game that started on the back foot, Carnesecchi raised the shields, making crucial saves that kept the deficit manageable while giving impetus to a Nerazzurri comeback. After repelling Frankfurt’s onslaught at the Waldstadion, Marco closed out the month at the New Balance Arena with his third clean sheet of November: first denying goals to Piccoli and Kean to keep the match balanced until Kossounou’s strike, then stifling Fiorentina’s late surge.
Gefeliciteerd to Sir Charles, King of November! With his eyes already on December, the countdown for the next Lete Player of the Month has already begun…
