Carnesecchi Doubles Up: Marco Takes October’s Lete POTM!
Crowned by the Nerazzurri fans on the official Atalanta app
Back-to-back for Marco, who once again pulls on the gloves and claims the Lete Player of the Month award — proof that, once more in this early stretch of the season, the entropy of the voting process has perfectly followed its trademark equation: POTM Lete = MC².
Joining him on this month’s podium are an Ahanor in explosive form, continuing his exponential rise, and a Lookman making his first-ever appearance in the 2025/26 edition of the contest.
Resilience. That’s the cornerstone behind Marco Carnesecchi’s “October Double”. A concept that goes beyond mere shot-stopping, because Marco hasn’t just played his part as the last line of the Nerazzurri defence with his trademark composure, clarity, and authority — he’s become a true talisman for the team.
Beyond his saves, claims, and distribution, the number 29’s real impact has been one of mentality: the ability to stay switched on at all times. His performances were key building blocks in extending Atalanta’s unbeaten run throughout October, his presence between the sticks turning him into a genuine totem — one who could both shut down opponents and fire up his teammates.
A magnetism impossible to ignore: for Marco Carnesecchi, it’s a thoroughly deserved one-two punch in the Player of the Month Lete award.
After his bonze finish in August-September pageant, Honest Ahanor handled the pressure with remarkable maturity and raised the bar once again — not only on a personal level, as shown by his on-pitch performances, but also competitively, leaving behind some of the true heavyweights of the Lete-branded contest.
A double statement from the number 69 enfant prodige: for him, the sky’s the limit. His recipe for success? Confidence, full awareness of his own abilities, and relentless hard work — the key to his seamless adaptation not only to the game but also to the Orobic spirit. Add to that a kind of resilient lightheartedness, the perfect oxymoron that’s allowed him to turn pressure into positive energy.
It’s that same mindset that’s made him shine not only in his defensive duties — his natural territory — but also in his forays forward, where he’s come agonisingly close to his first goal in black and blue, a moment postponed, perhaps, but now very much in the air.
All qualities that clearly resonated with the voters, earning him yet another podium finish in this early stretch of the season — this time, a thoroughly deserved second place.
We close out the podium with Ademola Lookman, who came out on top in the showdown with the ever-reliable Mario Pašalić and Lazar Samardžić, the latter having kicked off October with a stroke of genius that gave his team the lead against Como.
For the Nerazzurri’s number 11 too it has been a month of relentless ascent: unpredictable in one-on-one situations, increasingly precise and ice-cold in front of goal, Lookman honed his finishing touch game by game, coming close against Como, Lazio, Slavia Prague, and Cremonese (a mix of bad luck and some timely interventions from opposing defenses) until he reached his pièce de résistance: the goal against Milan, his first of the season, with which — as is customary for him — he “exorcised” the Rossoneri, erasing Ricci’s temporary lead.
A flash that set the New Balance Arena alight and earned him his first Player of the Match award and his entry in the Player of the Month 2025 Hall of Fame.
Two wins out of two for Marco, once again “King of the Hill”! As always, see you next month for the next round of the Player of the Month Lete showdown.
