Academy: the recap on Grassroots Football
Many initiatives on and off the pitch
After the Christmas break, the Grassroots Football division is already poised to face the second part of the season. Traditionally renowned for all its rich and intense commitments and projects, the Attività di Base is an umbrella term reuniting under its namesake all the foundational and propaedeutic sides of the black-and-blue Academy, ranging from the U13S to the Piccoli Amici (peewee sides) and hence encompassing classes comprises between 2010 and 2016.
The range of commitments and projects implemented by the Grassroots division ranges from more sport-oriented ones (such as league fixtures, tournaments and friendly matches involving all subsidiary Clubs throughout Italy) to off-the-pitch projects alike –aimed at fostering and nurturing our young athletes during the course of their personal and professional growth not solely from a footballing standpoint; but rather on a personal and human perspective.
After the gruelling post-pandemic period, the current season witnessed a full-on reprisal of commitments and initiatives. The easing of Covid-related restrictions allowed the youth teams to participate in international tournaments: the class of 2010, for instance, was given the opportunity to live valuable experiences in Lithuania and Switzerland.
The set of tasks implemented by the Academy was not limited to teachings held on the pitch: utmost focus has been posed towards the meetings with families pivoted on child welfare and aimed at enabling children and parents alike with a whole host of handy insights and means to recognise and stave off current perilous social phenomena such as cyberbullying.
