Atalanta U15s Claim Bronze at the Honvéd Cup
Esposito’s Nerazzurri finished the tournament unbeaten and with a perfect clean sheet
Atalanta U15s' run in the 2026 Honvéd Cup in Hungary ended with a third-place finish. Alfonso Esposito’s side secured the bronze by beating hosts Budapest Honvéd 3-0, thanks to goals from Carone, Merelli, and Bosatelli.
The Nerazzurri finished the tournament unbeaten and without conceding a goal, registering strong performances against Honvéd, Paris Saint-Germain, and Maribor. In the group stage, they had beaten Maribor 2-0 with a Carone double and drawn 0-0 with Spartak Moscow, narrowly missing out on the final after a penalty shootout in the second game.
Beyond their performances on the pitch, the tournament was an important opportunity for the Nerazzurri youngsters to gain international experience and grow both technically and culturally. In addition to the matches, the squad took part in several off-field activities, including visits to the Hungarian Parliament and the Puskás Aréna, the stadium that will host the next Champions League final
