2025 AFCON: third Group stage straight win for Nigeria
Lookman was an unused sub
Currently underway in Morocco, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, features two Atalanta players among its protagonists: Ademola Lookman with Nigeria and Odilon Kossounou with Ivory Coast. The opening stage of the tournament features the group phase, with three matches for each national team.
In the third and final match of the group stage, Nigeria, already safely through to the knockout rounds after two wins, wrapped things up with a 3–1 win over Uganda. Ademola Lookman was left out of the matchday action.
Wednesday the 31st also brings the final group game for Odilon Kossounou and the Ivory Coast, who go head-to-head with Gabon in a must-win clash to seal their place in the next stage.
