U23s, Francesco Modesto: "The lads played their cards well"

Following the draw against Trento, coach Francesco Modesto offered his insights on the outing: "We racked up chances over chances throughout the first half, the lads approached the game well and we deservedly took the lead. As for the second fraction of the game, our opponents came out strong in the opening , creating a few chances, but the team stood its ground nonetheless. We might have extended our lead but unfortunately it didn't pan out, and sometimes you get caught out by a set-piece situation. But that's also a part of football. Which on the other hand shows there's still much room for improvement. Nonetheless, I'm happy with the team's progress".

He continued: "We conceded two goals: one from a rather equivocal penalty, which was awarded for a foul from outside of the box, and the other came from a lineout free-kick. It's grating but the hard work we're putting in is paying off nonetheless".

Closing off the interview, the black-and-blue caretaker wish to address the red card: "I lost my temper because not only did Vlahović suffer a clear penalty foul, but he was also shoved off the field by the Trento defender, preventing the game from being stopped for the medical team to attend to him".
