Two second-half goals award Inter the win
Visitors take a 2-0 win at the Gewiss Stadium
Inter run out winners as the 2024/25 Serie Enilive MD29 sees the visitors impose themselves 2-0 at the Gewiss Stadium with two second-half goals.
No holds were barred in the first half. After the visitors drew first blood on 7 minutes, when Thuram saw his effort denied by the post, Atalanta pulled up the floodgates, keeping Inter at bay in the follow-up before retaliating in the 18th as Pašalić's header forced a showstopping save from Sommer.
The visitors took the lead on 54 minutes with Carlos Augusto heading the ball into the back of the net from a corner kick. At the hour mark, Inter and Atalanta gave tit for tat from range in a matter of minutes: after Éderson's 60-minute effort flew wide, before Carnesecchi defused Calhanoglu in the 64th. After Atalanta went down to 10 men as Éderson was waved a double yellow card, Inter stretched their lead in the 88th with Lautaro Martinez before Carnesecchi pulled off a crucial save to deny Frattesi in stoppage time. Inter come away with a 0-2 win at the Gewiss Stadium.
