Tullio Panza: 800 Nerazzurri outings and counting!
57 years after his first road game in Mantua
Atalanta's 3-1 away win at the Ennio Tardini stadium in Parma saw another Nerazzurro celebrate an extraordinary milestone: although he didn't literally "take to the pitch", it was still a momentous night for Tullio Panza, the black and blue fan from Cisano Bergamasco, who "clocked in" his 800th away game supporting Atalanta, the team he holds dear.
His journey began on 12 November 1967 at the Martelli stadium in Mantua, where the home side beat the Nerazzurri 1-0 on Serie A matchday 8.
The first international trip was a Mitropa CUP game on 28 November 1984: Spartakus Bekescsaba 1-2 Atalanta.
The first Cup Winners' Cup away match was on 16 September 1987: Merthyr Tydfil 2-1 Atalanta (The Nerazzurri then reached the semi-final of the competition).
The first UEFA Cup away game dates back to 27 September 1989: Spartak Moscow 2-0 Atalanta (The Nerazzurri finished top of their group at the end of the group stage).
The first UEFA Champions League outing dates back to 21 September 2019: Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 Atalanta (The Nerazzurri then qualified for the Final Eight played in Lisbon).
As of 31 December 2024, Tullio Panza has travelled far and wide to support the Nerazzurri, attending 1,995 official Atalanta matches, 801 of them away from Bergamo.
To further lionize this remarkable achievement, Corporate General Director Andrea Fabris presented Tullio with a special commemorative shirt during the home match against Empoli.
A big round of applause for Tullio! Hats off to our globetrottong Nerazzurro!
