"Sfumature di Azzurro" Exhibition at Donizetti theatre in Bergamo
From March 23 to 27, memorabilia from the Coverciano Football Museum will be on display
On the occasion of the FIFA World Cup playoff semifinal between Italy and Northern Ireland, scheduled for Thursday 26 March at 20:45 CET at the New Balance Arena, the foyer of Teatro Donizetti will host a free-entry exhibition dedicated to the history and achievements of the Italian National Team.
From March 23 to 27, the city of Bergamo will welcome “Sfumature di Azzurro”, a traveling exhibition that traces the journey of the Azzurri through a curated selection of memorabilia from the Coverciano Football Museum. Hosted in the foyer of Teatro Donizetti, the exhibition will offer visitors the opportunity to relive the most significant moments in the history of the Italian National Team, including the chance to admire up close the FIFA World Cups and UEFA European Championship trophies won by Italy.
The official opening is scheduled for Monday 23 March at 16:30 CET.
The exhibition at Teatro Donizetti is organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Bergamo, with operational support from Atalanta.
Among the items on display are the match ball from the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final, as well as jerseys worn by some of the most iconic figures in Italian football history, including Dino Zoff, Roberto Boninsegna, Fabio Capello, Gianluca Vialli, Roberto Baggio, Francesco Totti, and Gianluigi Buffon. The exhibition also features historic pennants—such as the one from the 1968 European Championship Final between Italy and Yugoslavia—as well as boots worn by Pietro Anastasi, Paolo Rossi, Franco Causio, Alessandro Del Piero, and Andrea Pirlo.
This initiative represents a valuable opportunity for the public and football enthusiasts to engage with the history and achievements of the Italian National Team through original artifacts of significant historical and sporting value.
