Samaden wins the Mino Favini award

During the XXXII edition of the "Panchina d’Oro" (Golden Bench) event, the ceremony held at the Centro Tecnico Federale in Coverciano, Roberto Samaden was awarded the "Mino Favini" prize for best Head of the Youth System.

The Chief Executive of Atalanta Academy received the prestigious recognition, named in honor of the unforgotten and unforgettable Mino Favini and assigned according to the discretion of his colleagues. "Despite having already had the pleasure of receiving such coveted prize in 2020, the year of its first release, - Roberto Samaden said from the sidelines of the ceremony- accepting this award yet again fills me with utmost pride; foremost, because it's a token of esteem and appreciation for your job and for the care you put into it on behalf of your colleagues. As such, I wish to underscore the preciousness of any acknowledgement coming from my peers. Moreover, being this award named after Mino Favini and having been awarded during the very same season that saw the Percassi family entrust me with Mino Favini's very own inestimable legacy at Atalanta, makes this whole experience all the more significant and magical. While I was honoured and humbled back in 2020, I cannot hide that, due to all those aforementioned reasons, being here today takes on an even greater significance. In my closing remarks, I wish to tender my most heartfelt thanks to all my esteemed colleagues for their votes: even at the cost of being iterative, I'm most elated and prideful for such gesture of appreciation".

Seeing Roberto Samaden being bestowed such coveted recognition is a point of pride for the whole Atalanta family. In the words of our President, Antonio Percassi: "We're most delighted for Roberto.  This award acknowledges the stature and values, both personal and professional, of a man who truly and deeply embodies all those underlying principles and rules of conduct that, being at the very core of Atalanta's ethos, have been enshrined as the part and parcel of that very same framework that leads the actions of each end every single Academy executive ever since the unwavering example set by Mino Favini himself. It was both the prominence of Samaden's professional trajectory and, foremost, his  human qualities what tipped the scales and made the choice we had to contend with last summer all the more straightforward: our Academy couldn't simply lay in better hands than Roberto's, whom we entrusted with the aims of both cherishing its historic legacy and of enhancing its heritage even further.
