Latina 1-0 Atalanta U23s
Tough league debut
At the Domenico Francioni Stadium, Atalanta U23s were narrowly edged out by Latina in their 2025/26 Serie C Sky Wifi season opener.
After the opening fifteen minutes proved themselves a leveled affair with both teams probing but without creating discernible goal chances, it was Atalanta who broke the ice on 20 minutes: Idele set up De Nipoti who, upon finding space in the box, unleashed a left-footed trivela, albeit dragging his effort wide to the side. In an attempt to capitalize on a defensive mix-up, the hosts returned in kind in the 25th with a quick-fire double chance, but both were blocked by a well-positioned backline. On 28 minutes Ekuban found himself clean through, eventually firing wide of the target in the mano-a-mano against Pardel.
On 56 minutes Idele rippled through the right flank and weaved his way into the box before sliding the ball across for Cissè, who struck first time but saw his effort pick up a deflection and then chip onto the post. In the 58th Latina found the breakthrough thanks to substitute Riccardi. The hosts doubled their lead six minutes after, with the goal chalked off for offside. As the game entered its final stages, Bocchetti's lads pushed for the equaliser in the 79th: after Simonetto powered into the box and squared it off, Ghislandi’s shot was flicked in by Lonardo, but the offside flag cut celebrations short once again.
