Late heroics from Brescianini snatch draw in Cremona

Atalanta hit back against Grigiorossi to earn 1-1 tie

Honours even at the Zini Stadium in Cremona as the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive MD8 clash ended 1-1, with the Nerazzurri, still unbeaten in the Italian top-flight, coming from behind courtesy of Brescianini’s late leveller to snatch the equalizer.

In the 18th minute, the Nerazzurri came close through De Ketelaere, who was picked out in the box by Éderson but looked to assist rather than shoot, allowing the Grigiorossi defence to clear. Then, in the 23rd minute, Baschirotto cut out Krstović's header. Carnesecchi was alert in the 27th, diving to stop Barbieri's effort from the edge of the box. At the 34-minute mark, both sides had their moments: first, Carnesecchi did well to beat Vardy to Zerbin's dangerous cross and on the counter, Krstović forced Silvestri into action. Before the break, Atalanta had two more good chances: De Ketelaere couldn't direct his header from Lookman's cross in the 45th and a minute later Lookman's shot was blocked in the box after some after some persistent build-up play.

In the second half, Samardžić, fresh off the bench, tried his luck twice: his first shot was kept out by Silvestri, and the second flew over the bar. Atalanta's no.10 came close to breaking the deadlock with a brilliant left-footed effort, but Silvestri produced a fine save to push it out for a corner. From the follow-up, De Roon volleyed, but the ball just missed the target. Taking the lead were Cremonese instead as Vardy pounced on a rebound off Carnesecchi from Zerbin’s shot to put the home side ahead in the 78th. Atalanta hit back straight away: after Scamacca’s acrobatic attempt was denied by Silvestri, Brescianini fired a stunning left-footed volley from the edge of the box and leveled the scores at 1-1 in Cremona, a result that would stand until the final whistle.
