Mediterranean Games: Perillo on target again, but Italy come up short

A second goal in as many games from Nerazzurri forward Diego Perillo was not enough for Italy U18, who were beaten by Tunisia in the semi-finals of the 20th Mediterranean Games. The Atalanta striker gave the Azzurrini the lead at the Iacovone Stadium in Taranto, before Tunisia came from behind to claim a 3-1 win. The other two Nerazzurri, goalkeeper Mattia Sonzogni and midfielder Francesco Olivieri, did not feature in the semi-final.

The Mediterranean Games are not over yet for the Azzurrini, who have impressed throughout the competition despite fielding a very young side: the third-place play-off is scheduled for Sunday at 10:00 CEST.
