Coppa Italia Primavera: Atalanta 6-1 Pro Vercelli
Nerazzurri book their spot in the Round of 32
In the Round of 64 of the Coppa Italia Primavera, coach Bosi’s Atalanta cruised past Pro Vercelli to book their spot in the Round of 32. At the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia, the Nerazzurri delivered a dominant display, running out 6-1 winners over the visitors.
Atalanta started brightly, immediately taking control of possession and pressing high up the pitch. The first warning came just seven minutes in, when Mouisse tried his luck from distance, followed shortly after by Bono, who rattled the post with a powerful strike. Pro Vercelli responded midway through the first half with a left-footed attempt from Shaker at the edge of the box, while Bono forced another save from Anfossi with a long-range effort.
The breakthrough arrived in the 33rd minute: from a corner, Parmiggiani’s header hit the woodwork and Pedretti was quickest to react, slotting home from close range to make it 1-0. Just before the break, the visitors threatened the equaliser with a dangerous chance inside the area, but Atalanta nearly doubled their lead through Mouisse, whose shot flew just over the bar. The hosts went into halftime deservedly ahead.
After the restart, Atalanta turned on the style. Bono doubled the lead in the 57th minute, and just two minutes later Percassi added a third with a composed right-footed finish across goal. Substitute Mungari scored with his very first touch to make it 4-0, before Mouisse smashed home under the crossbar for Atalanta’s fifth. Pro Vercelli managed a consolation goal with a header at the far post, but Mouisse capped off his superb performance with a brilliant long-range strike to seal a 6-1 victory and his personal brace.
A statement win for Bosi’s side, who advance to the next round where they will host Virtus Entella at Zingonia—fresh off their 3-0 home win against Palermo.
