Bonaccorso: the framework of the Attività Pre-Agonistica
Eight teams involved, from the U14s to the Piccoli Amici
With the gathering of the U14s as the official green light, operations for the Attività Pre-Agonistica are well under way. In the following days, all other teams will gradually resume training, for a total of eight teams hitting the pitches: encompassing all players born between 2010 and 2017, all the way to the so-called "Piccoli Amici".
Stefano Bonaccorso, Head of the Attività Pre-Agonistica, ushered in the upcoming steps of the framework: "As a way to break new ground, from this season onwards, the range of activities of the Attività pre-agonisitica department will now encompass also the Under 14 in order to go full circle and complete a professional journey that begins with 5-a-side teams and transitions towards regular 11-a-side with time. For the sake of continuity, we have confirmed our coaches and the technical staff in bulk. As for the U14s, Giordani and Di Cintio will take the helm of our more “senior” team, in order to pick up the work started with the group born in 2010 where they left off last season".
Bonaccorso explained the guidelines that will lead the growth path of all our teams: "We have two great tasks: the nurturing of our youngsters from both a professional and human perspective. As such, our work will entail both the footballing and sporting education. Along these lines, our newly appointed director Roberto Samaden has laid out a clear and mandatory framework: firstly, we ought to create a challenging environment within Atalanta, that positively entice our kids both in terms of training and personal well-being.We ought to shift our overall focus towards the personal dimension: starting off from the kids and their families first and then move to their professional side. Especially given how the psychological and interpersonal wellbeing of children is likewise reflected on their performances on the pitch. With the new management deeming this aspect mandatory, we’ve seen all our past efforts in this direction vindicated and we’ll embark ourselves on this educational task body and soul. Additionally, for quite a while now, we’ve been working in conjunction with the educational and psychological departments for the further education of our coaches on all the socio-relational aspects: we will keep raising awareness towards these topics, seconding a blended approach where the theoretical dimension will also be put into practice with our kids. Moving on to the training camps, in addition to the chance of honing their footballing skills all our players will also be provided with the opportunity of living all those experiences, like the getting and staying together, that, by creating all those bonds and knowledges, have an invaluable influence on the pitch. During said training camps huge importance will be given to all those leisurely moments and extra-footballing activities, such as football-tennis tournaments and mountain trips, to ensure the proper relational stimuli and all these interpersonal aspects that go beyond what happens on the pitch ".
The closing remarks revolved around the mission of the Attività Pre-Agonistica; namely "We ought to strengthen our own dimension, our own philosophy and our own history, that traces its roots in scouting and nurturing players born and bred within Bergamo, its outskirts and Lombardy. We must start again from the local territory, our work will be focused on Bergamo, its whereabouts and the neighbouring provinces more than ever; in order to scout wonderkids native of both Bergamo and Lombardy".
