Atalanta U23s 1-3 Arzignano
Setback in Caravaggio
With Arzignano imposing themselves 3-1, the Nerazzurri are halted in their tracks in Caravaggio.
The visitors had the first chance of the game, as a header from Benedetti in the box tested Vismara's reflexes forcing the Nerazzurro keeper to pull off a great goalkeeping display. At the 9-minute mark the referee awards Arzignano a penalty after deeming a challenge from Panada in the box a foul, with the black-and-blue midfleder being waved a straight red card as a result. Hitting the mark from the spot, it was Boffelli who put the visitors from the spot. While the Nerazzurri respondede with their first warning shots in the 18th minute - namely, back-to-back efforts from Gyabuaa and Pounga, both deflected away- Benedetti doubled the away lead two minutes later. In the 38th Bergonzi halved the deficit with a stunning solo effort: after controlling the ball and juggling it with finesse, the black-and-blue wingback fired a left-footer rocket past the opposing keeper. And just before the break, on 43 minutes flat, Bernasconi came close to equalizing with a tricky free-kick attempt.
Despite being one man down, Atalanta U23s pushed hard for the equalizer with Obrić coming closest in the 61st with a towering header. But hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 77th when Jallow put the game to bed for the visitors.
