Atalanta and the Academy honouring the International Women's Day
Featuring the boys and girls from the Youth Sector
Held in anticipation of the “International Women's Day” celebrated today, Saturday March 8, Atalanta's social responsibility initiatives saw the Nerazzurri Academy embroiled in a wide rnge of off-field activities. Over the course of the week, the U12 boys and girls squads took a path of reflection and confrontation on sexism and gender discrimination, dividing between classroom and field activities.
The classroom activities, led by Atalanta’s psychoeducational staff, were designed to stimulate reflection, even in the youngest, on issues such as equal opportunities and prejudice against women, unfortunately still happening in daily life.
All participants showed great interest when they were offered a historical and insightful view of “International Women's Day,” confirming the importance to keep raising awareness on these issues among the younger generation. In addition, the progress in the economic, political, sports, scientific and cultural spheres achieved by women around the world was also highlighted.
The second part of the activities took place on the pitch, where, through a mixed-ranks practice session, boys and girls teamed up and broke all kinds of prejudices by demonstrating cooperation, complicity and brotherhood.
Further reinforcing the message, the fourth seasonal "Ciak Educazione!" installment also turned the spotlight on this important cause.
On March 8, the day designated as the "International Women's Day, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women across social, political abd economic fields while also drawing attention to the ongoing discrimination and violence that many continue to face across the globe.
In celebration of this important day, we wish to extend our heartfelt greetings for a Happy International Women's Day! Our warmest thanks go to all the women who contribute to Atalanta both on and off the pitch! Cheers to all the women who back Atalanta with all their heart! Here's to all women!
