The fourth "Ciak Educazione!" cineforum

This week some of the Nerazzurri Academy's off-the-pitch activities are dedicated to “International Women's Day,” to be celebrated next Saturday, March 8.

On Monday, the cineforum “Ciak Education!” was held at the “Casa del Giovane”, now in its fourth seasonal appointment.

For the occasion, the film “Hidden Figures” was screened: the movie, based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly, tells the true story of African American mathematician, scientist and physicist Katherine Goble Johnson, who collaborated with NASA, defying racism and calculating trajectories for the Project Mercury and the Apollo 11 mission.

Through a constructive debate, this film allowed the youngsters to reflect on relevant and topical issues such as discrimination and gender equality, but also on the importance of education and determination.

This evening was also an opportunity to highlight, once again, the power cinema holds in education and in raising awareness.
