Marten de Roon hits 400 for Atalanta
From the Cittadella debut to Torino: De Roon's journey in Nerazzurro
It was August 15, 2015 when Marten de Roon first donned Atalanta's black-and-blue colours: stepping onto the pitch for the Coppa Italia Round 3 against Cittadella, which ultimately saw the Nerazzurri 3-0 winners at home.
A decade later, the story comes full circle: another 3-0 scoreline, this time at the Olimpico Grande Torino stadium, and Atalanta once again victorious, this time in the Serie A Enilive MD4. A victory that carries more than just three points as it writes a new page in Atalanta's history as it marked captain Marten de Roon's 400th appearance in Nerazzurri colours.
From his very first game to this day, his unwavering spirt and his relentless passion have been dictating the tempo of his black-and-blue heart.
From the Serie A to the Coppa Italia, from the UEFA Europa League -crowned by the historic triumph in the 2023/24 season- to the magical Champions League nights. Along the way, the Italian Supercup and the UEFA Super Cup.
Four hundred jerseys worn, drenched in sweat.
In every stadium, beneath every sky, driven by that signature "hunger", his trademark drive and that very same deep-rooted belonging.
Four hundred times Marten de Roon!
