2025/26 UCL opposition focus: Club Brugge
New Balance Arena to host League Phase Round 2 on Tuesday
Atalanta will take on Belgian side Club Brugge in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League MD2. The game is set for Tuesday, September 30, at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo with kick-off fixed for 18:45 CEST. This marks the third official meeting between the two clubs in the competition, following their two-legged playoff clash in February of last season.
Founded in 1891 in the heart of West Flanders, Club Brugge are one of Belgium’s most storied and successful football clubs. A mainstay of the Pro League, the club boasts an honours list comprising: 19 league titles, 12 Belgian Cups, and 18 Super Cups.
The team has been managed by Belgian coach Nicky Hayen since March of the 2023/24 season.
In their latest league outing, Club Brugge edged Standard Liège 2-1 on the road, climbing to second place in the Belgian Pro League with 17 points. Moving on to their continental journey, the West Flemish side hit the League Phase ground running, having defeated AS Monaco 4-1 on MD1.
