UEFA Youth League: Olympique de Marseille 0-0 Atalanta

Second positive result in a row for the Nerazzurri

After the home win over Czech side Slavia Prague, Atalanta U19 earned their second consecutive positive result in the 2025/26 UEFA Youth League League Phase, claiming an important draw and a valuable point against French outfit Olympique de Marseille.

The match between OM and Atalanta got off to a high-tempo start, with both teams showing great intensity and physicality right from the opening minutes. The first real chance fell to the hosts: Abdallah unleashed a powerful strike inside the box, but his effort flew over the crossbar. The Nerazzurri reacted soon after with Mencaraglia trying his luck from distance, only to see his shot blocked at the last moment by the French defense. In the 23rd minute, OM came close to taking the lead with a left-footed effort that curled just wide, while ten minutes before halftime coach Bosi’s side threatened again as Baldo met Mencaraglia’s excellent cross from the right with a header that went just off target. Marseille kept pressing late in the first half, but the opening 45 minutes at the Stade Francis Turcan ended goalless.

At the start of the second half, it was Atalanta who pushed forward first, with Baldo firing from distance, before Abdallah responded for Marseille without finding the target. As the game went on, clear chances became scarce for both sides: the Nerazzurri built up well in attack on several occasions but couldn’t find the breakthrough, while the hosts tried their luck from distance—Anelli doing well to keep them out—and later with a curling right-footed shot that drifted wide of the far post. In stoppage time, Anelli was called into action again to deny Sellami’s header, ensuring the match in Martigues ended in a 0–0 draw between OM and Atalanta.
