The Serie A campaign ends all square in Florence
Zappacosta sparks the own goal that seals the 1-1 draw at the Franchi
Atalanta brought the curtain down on the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive season with a 1-1 draw away to Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Matchday 38.
The first chance fell to Atalanta in the 5th minute, with Samardžić curling a left-footed effort that got denied by the Fiorentina goalkeeper. Raspadori tried his luck in the 16th minute, but his shot went wide. Between the 18th and 19th minute, the Nerazzurri produced three more attempts: Musah and Samardžić forced saves from Christensen, while de Roon sent a left-footed effort off target. Breaking the deadlock were instead Fiorentina, finding the goal on 39 minutes with Piccoli.
In the second half, the Nerazzurri came close to equalising in the 51st minute through Ahanor, whose left-footed diagonal effort forced Christensen into action. In the 58th minute, Kamaldeen found Zappacosta unmarked on the left-hand side, but Christensen rushed off his line to block the wing-back’s effort with his body. Sportiello was then alert in the 61st minute to deny Mandragora’s curling free-kick. Three minutes later, Pašalić headed over the crossbar from close range. In the 77th minute, a neat combination between Raspadori and Kamaldeen freed the No. 7 for a shot, but Christensen reacted well to push the effort behind for a corner. Then, in the 80th minute, Sportiello produced another important save, tipping Fabbian’s header over the crossbar. In the closing stages, 2005s-born Academy product Vavassori made his Serie A and senior-team debut. The equaliser arrived in the 82nd minute, when Zappacosta’s delivery forced Comuzzo into an own goal as he attempted to deny Scamacca.
At the Stadio Artemio Franchi, the Nerazzurri then brought their league campaign to a close with a 1-1 draw.
