UEFA Youth League: Atalanta 0-2 Club Brugge

Club Brugge claimed a 2-0 win in Caravaggio

At the Comunale in Caravaggio, Club Brugge came out on top: in the MD2 of the 2025/26 UEFA Youth League, the guests claimed a 2-0 victory over the Nerazzurri.

Under the watchful eyes of CEO Luca Percassi, Co-Chairman Stephen Pagliuca and his son Joseph, the clash between Atalanta and Club Brugge kicked off with the visitors immediately on the front foot: first with a close-range effort from Jensen, denied by a fine intervention from the Nerazzurri backline, and shortly after with Amengai’s wayward attempt.

Coach Bosi's side quickly tried to respond by pushing forward down the left, but Baldo’s strike from the edge of the box was comfortably gathered by the Belgian goalkeeper. On the half-hour mark, the Nerazzurri came close to breaking the deadlock from a corner kick, as Cakolli’s header was brilliantly parried by Vanden Driessche. But in the 31st minute, Club Brugge struck first: Bisiwu broke the deadlock with a left-footed strike across goal that beat Zanchi and nestled inside the far post. Just before the break, Artesani tried his luck with a curling left-footer aimed at the far corner, but he couldn’t find the target. After 45 minutes in Caravaggio, Club Brugge head into the dressing rooms with a 1-0 lead.

At the start of the second half, the Nerazzurri immediately threatened the opponent with a fine run into the box from Steffanoni, but the Atalanta No. 5 saw his shot stopped by the alert Brugge goalkeeper. In the 61st minute, Zanchi came to the rescue with a crucial save on Bisiwu’s angled strike. Moments later, the visitors nearly doubled their lead when Amengai tried his luck from distance, only to be denied by the crossbar. Ten minutes from time, Bono attempted to catch Vanden Driessche off guard at the near post with a curling free kick, but his effort lacked the power to trouble the keeper. In the dying stages, Brugge sealed the contest as Bisiwu struck again, netting his second of the night to wrap up a 2-0 victory.
