U23s See Off Renate 2-0 in Pre-season Friendly

Atalanta U23s claimed a convincing 2-0 victory over Renate in a pre-season friendly at the Stadio Comunale in Caravaggio.

The Nerazzurri made an assured start, taking control of the game from the opening minutes with an enterprising approach. The first chance came after just three minutes, when Mendicino's powerful long-range strike was parried away by the Renate goalkeeper. The breakthrough arrived in the 19th minute as Bonanomi threaded a perfectly weighted through ball into the path of Camara, who kept his composure to round the goalkeeper and slot home. Nine minutes later, Atalanta doubled their lead through Guerini following a fine team move: Levak found Camara, who produced a first-time through ball to send Guerini clear in the box for the 2-0.

Coach Beati made several changes after the break, but the pattern of the game remained unchanged. Sonzogni preserved the Nerazzurri's clean sheet with a series of fine saves, while in the 75th minute De Nipoti came close to adding a third after a brilliant solo run, only to be denied by a smart stop from the Renate goalkeeper.
