U23s, Salvatore Bocchetti: "We deserved more"

Following the setback at the Massimino stadium, coach Salvatore Bocchetti commented as follows: "In the ssecond half, the pitch was unplayable: it was extremely difficulto to play good football in those conditions. The lads could have made better decisions, like going long in certain situations; on a pitch like that you need that kind of game awareness. As for the first half, we put in an excellent performance and deserved more. That said, we have to be more ruthless and determined in front of goal: we're struggling to score. You have to make the most of those chances, especially against teams like this. And I'll say it again: in the second half it was no longer football with the pitch in that state. We were a bit naïve, and the penalty ended up shaping the course of the game. In recent matches we’ve conceded too much — we need to be more streetwise and clever”.

"Looking at the first half of the sseason, based on what we produced we could certainly have picked up a few more points - the Nerazzurri coach concluded-. We know Group C is very tough, with teams that have invested heavily to win the league. We’ll give everything to do well in the second half of the season, we need to be more solid.I expect a strong second half of the campaign; the boys have grown a lot over the last six months”.
