U23s, Salvatore Bocchetti: "The lads gave it their all"
The coach's post-match debriefing
As the U23s drew with Team Altamura in Caravaggio, coach Bocchetti commented the game as ffollows: "We were on top of the game the whole time bar one slight chance from the opposition. We held the reins, created chances and stifled them with our pressing: so much so that I can't recall a single save from Vismara. In a way, it was a coming-of-age performance for us: after spending two straight weeks off the pitch, performing like we did wasn't par for the course. While we could have taken better advantages of the odd chances here and there, I'm satisfied overall, the lads spared nothing. As I'm glad of the clean sheet, we’re working hard to improve defensively, and it showed today.”
"I can rely on a wide roster at my disposal, and now that push comes to shove with a busy run of games coming up, we'll be needing for everyone to pull their weight.- the black-and-blue coach concluded- In a way, I'm also keen to know how the team will be holding up, especially those who have less minutes under their belts: I have high expectations for them, especially in terms of mentality. Yet, I'm hopeful everyone will step up when called upon.
