U18s at the start: first session at the Centro Bortolotti
Coach Polenghi's Nerazzurri will continue preparations in Roncegno Terme starting Sunday
After the Primavera ushered in the pre-season, the U18s followed suit today as the team gathered at the Centro Bortolotti in the afternoon for their first training session of the new campaign. Confirmed at the helm of the team, Tiziano Polenghi will build on the work carried out last season with the 2008-born group.
"Being able to work with players I already know gives you an undeniable edge, for all of us," explained coach Polenghi. "I’m really happy to keep building on what we started together. The top priority is to help them grow individually, because team results are simply the outcome of each player's progress. We’ve got to keep pushing to get them ready for the next level. The U18s are the final stop before the Primavera, so this will be a big year for them.”
The team will continue their preparations in Trentino-Alto Adige starting Sunday. “The training camp is a special time,” said the Nerazzurri coach. “It’s a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships. Many of these players have known each other for a long time, but there are also new faces. This part of the season is not just about adapting to the physical demands they’ll face -it’s also about bonding, enjoying themselves, and building team spirit. That’s the most important thing.”
