Coach Belingheri's Nerazzurri will continue preparations in Fanano starting Monday
Atalanta's Under-17s also kicked off pre-season with the team's gathering and first training session of the new campaign at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia. Luca Belingheri, a native of Costa Volpino in the province of Bergamo, will coach Atalanta’s 2009-born squad this season. It’s a homecoming for him, as he once played in the club’s youth system himself. “A lot of time has passed—about thirty years,” said the new Nerazzurri coach, expressing his excitement at returning to Zingonia. “Much has changed here; everything has improved. I’ve found a wonderful training centre, with everything we need to work well and help these kids grow. After many years as a professional player and five more as a youth coach, I’m definitely coming back with a wealth of experience—but I can honestly say, it all started here.”
“We’ll try to be proactive and help the players grow by building their confidence,” continued coach Belingheri. “I always encourage them to go for a play—even if it leads to a mistake—because what matters is that they keep trying. At the youth level, I believe it’s essential not to fear making mistakes. The training camp in Fanano will be a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better, and taking part in two important tournaments will help us understand where we stand and assess our level. We’ll make the most of these first days together to strengthen our connection.”

PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE The team will train at the Centro Bortolotti until Sunday. From Monday 4 August to Tuesday 12 August, they will continue their preparations at a training camp in Fanano, in the province of Modena, where they will take part in the Memorial Seghedoni. The semi-final against Modena is scheduled for Friday 8 August, with the finals taking place on Monday 11 August. From 19 August onwards, Atalanta's Under-17s will participate in the Scopigno Cup in Rieti, facing the host club Rieti on 20 August and Fiorentina on 21 August.
