Three more points in the bag on De Roon's record day
Zappacosta netting the match-winner against Hellas Verona
Zappacosta’s goal proved decisive as Atalanta edged past Hellas Verona in the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive Matchday 30. At the New Balance Arena in Bergamo, the Nerazzurri secured a crucial win to move up to 50 points in the table.
It was also a landmark day for captain de Roon, who moved past Bellini to become Atalanta’s all-time appearance leader, reaching 436 games across all competitions.
Coming out firing from the first whistle, the Nerazzurri started threatening early: after Zalewski tested his luck with a left-footed drive that flashed wide, Montipò was called into action to deny Krstović’s header. As the pressure kept building, on 17 minutes Éderson came closest to open the scoring, only for Akpa Akpro to negate the Brazilian's sure finish from Zappacosta’s cross with a crucial clearance. Despite Djimsiti heading over on 35 minutes, the breakthrough was just around the corner: in the 37th it was Zappacosta who eventually pierced Montipò's wall with a clinical left-footed strike into the far corner, capping off a relentless team move with surgical precision.
The second half kicked off with a cat-like reflex save from Carnesecchi to tip Belghali's tricky cross-shot behind for a corner. Sent through on goal by De Ketelaere, Krstović tried his luck again on 55 minutes, lifting a lob that sailed past Montipò and then brushed the roof of the net. The visitors reared their heads in the 77th with Orban, grazing the post with a first-time finish. Orban had another crack at goal in the 80th minute, but Carnesecchi was well alert, sending it out of harm's way. As the final whistle blew in Bergamo, the Nerazzurri ran out 1-0 winners at the New Balance Arena.
