U23s, facing Casertana on Sunday for the Group C Playoffs’ Round 1

For the third straight year, Atalanta U23s are back in the Serie C Playoffs. The Nerazzurri get their knockout stage underway on Sunday, May 3 (20:00 CEST), travelling to the Alberto Pinto Stadium to take on Casertana in the First Round.

Only a win will send the Nerazzurri through: in the event of a draw after 90 minutes, the hosts—seeded higher—would advance.

In both regular season matchups it was Casertana who had the upper hand, winning 1-0 at home and 2-0 in Caravaggio.

HOW THE TEAMS FARED IN THE LATEST ROUND

Atalanta U23s wrapped up the regular season with a 1-1 draw against Catania, a result that sealed their place in the Playoffs. The Nerazzurri finished 11th in the table on 45 points.

Casertana, meanwhile, ended the regular season in 5th place with 66 points, drawing 1-1 against Giugliano on the final matchday.

THE REFEREE

The match will be officiated by Cristiano Ursini from the Pescara AIA section, with assistants Massimiliano Starnini (Viterbo) and Marco Munitello (Gradisca d’Isonzo). Gabriele Sacchi (Macerata) has been appointed as fourth official, V.A.R. duties will be handled by Federico Dionisi (L’Aquila), with Antonio Di Reda (Molfetta) serving as A.V.A.R.
