Serie C opener away at Vado on Friday

On Friday 21 August at 21:00 CEST, Atalanta U23 will kick off their fourth Serie C campaign, their first in Group B. The Nerazzurri will face newly promoted Vado FC at the Giuseppe Sivori stadium in Sestri Levante. Vado earned promotion to Serie C last season, returning to the division after 78 years. It will therefore be the first-ever competitive meeting between the two sides.
Both teams head into the fixture after making their Coppa Italia Serie C debuts. Despite an excellent performance, Atalanta U23 were edged out 4-3 on penalties by Cittadella following a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. Vado, meanwhile, progressed to the second round after defeating Inter U23 7-6 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time, for an 8-7 aggregate score.
THE REFEREE
The match will be officiated by Giacomo Rossini from the Turin AIA section, with assistants Gheorghe Mititelu (Turin) and Paolo Fumagallo (Novara). Giovanni Castellano (Nichelino) has been appointed as fourth official, with Nicola Di Meo (Nichelino) serving as FVS operator.
