Sassuolo come out on top at the New Balance Arena
Three points go to the Emilia side
The 2025/26 Serie A Enilive MD11 saw Sassuolo impose themselves 3-0 at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo.
The Nerazzurri shook fist at the 9-minute mark with Lookman, who muscled into the opposing box right and unleashed a powerful shot on target, only to be denied by a last-ditch save from Idzes. It was the hosts who drew first blood instead, with Berardi converting the penalty won by Pinamonti. Nose to grindstone, the Nerazzurri immediately went on the hunt for the equalizer with Zappacosta, but Sassuolo didn't give away any space.
The second half started with a cold shower for the hosts, as Pinamonti doubled Sassuolo’s lead in the 47th minute, receiving the ball in the heart of the box and slotting it past Carnesecchi. The Nerazzurri responded with Lookman in the 51st minute: a powerful shot, but straight at Muric, who pushed it out for a corner. On 54 minutes Muric slammed the door shut on Krstović, through on goal following a flick-on from Pašalić. Just one minute later, Krstović threatened once again, but his shot on Zappacosta's cross from the left hissed out to the side. On 66 minutes, the visitors extended their lead with Berardi, finishing off a Thorstvedt through-ball. The last chance of the game fell to Zalewski, with his 85-minute curling effort fizzling out wide of the post. At full time, the visiotrs ran out winners
