Away setback for the Nerazzurri as the 2024-2025 Primavera 1 “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” MD14 game culminated with hosting side Lecce imposing themselves 2-1 at the DEGHI Centre.
The match opened up with Atalanta winning a penalty thanks to Capac then converted by Simonetto to give the Nerazzurri the lead just after 6 minutes. Likewise finding their scoring ways from the spot, the hosts levelled the game in the 13th through Bertolucci, who won his static one-to-one with Zanchi and equalised for Lecce. Taking the lead on the brink of halftime through Kovac, the Lecce closed the first half 2-1 up.
Atalanta neared the equaliser at the onset of the second half through Riccio as the black-and-blue no.8 broke through the opposing defence and eventually forced a last-ditch goal-line clearance from the opposing keeper with his 51-minute header. 70 minutes in and Simonetto followed suit but finalized slightly wide to the right of the post. Mere moments later, the Nerazzurri found themselves on the receiving end though, as Zanchi flew to prevent the hosts from stretching their lead. As the curtains fell on the DEGHI Centre, the hosts came out 2-1 on top eventually.
