Primavera: Genoa 2-2 Atalanta
Baldo and Cakolli on the scoresheet
After progressing to the next round of the Coppa Italia Primavera against the Ligurian side Virtus Entella, Atalanta, coached by Giovanni Bosi, earned an away draw against Genoa on Matchday 14 of the Primavera 1 championship, the "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti".
The first real chance of the match came from the home team after just 11 minutes: following a quick passing move on the edge of the box, Gibertini curled a left-footed shot toward the far post, but Zanchi reacted well to tip it out for a corner. Atalanta tried to push forward and create danger, but in the 24th minute the Rossoblù took the lead thanks to Carbone’s well-taken free kick. Ten minutes later, the Nerazzurri—awarded a penalty after Nsingi handled the ball in the box—brought the match level as Baldo confidently sent Lysionok the wrong way from the spot. The first half at the Sciorba Stadium ended 1–1.
In the second half, Genoa once again were the first to threaten, but Gibertini’s strike off the post and Žulevič’s mishit follow-up spared Atalanta from falling behind. Baldo and his teammates responded with chances of their own—first through Percassi down the right, and shortly after with an off-target effort by Baldo. In the 70th minute, following a corner, Atalanta completed the comeback: Cakolli rose highest to head home Mencaraglia’s pinpoint cross from the right. But in stoppage time, the home side snatched a draw as Roamano found the bottom corner with a low shot, sealing the final score at 2–2.
On Tuesday, 9 December, Atalanta will face Chelsea in the sixth and final matchday of the League Phase of the 2025–26 UEFA Youth League. Kick-off is scheduled for 14:00 on Pitch No. 9 at the Centro Bortolotti.
