Primavera: First day of training in Zingonia
Giovanni Bosi has been confirmed on the sidelines
With the gathering and the first training session held today at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia to officially usher in Atalanta Primavera's 2024-2025 season, the outfit will be coached by Giovanni Bosi, who has been recently confirmed at the helm of the black-and-blue U19s.
While Marco Zanchi will continue as the team's assistant coach, Marco Parma has been promoted after his last season's task at Atalanta U17s and has been appointed as Giovanni Bosi's technical assist, with whom he had already worked in their U16s days. This season's roster will comprise players born from 2005 to 2007.
In the words of the black-and-blue caretaker himself: "A grueling yet challenging season awaits us: thanks to the First Team's results we'll have the chance to take part in the Youth League, which will both serve as a benchmark against Europe's strongest Youth Teams and is surely bound to craft unforgettable memories and experiences. Additionally, regulations have revamped the league as well: with two more teams and an upper age limit".
"We- the U19s coach goes on - are going to build up on the path we charted last year: namely, a team with an age as below the league's average as possible and with a boisterous playing style. Which have always been the pillars of my training philosophy and the best way to both results and the nurturing of our footballers, which is the main scope of our job. Risk-taking and courage are the best lessons our lads should learn. Preparations will be off to an early start so that we can place the proper focus on as many aspects as possible to be ready to take everything that comes our way head on: we'll be all over the place this season with at least 45 games to play. Given that to a lad there's nothing more training and formative than a game, imagine the window of opportunities. Considering the youth of our roster, we'll have to gather some patience, especially at the beginning, but I'm hopeful: we have plenty of interesting players and I strongly believe in the work of our Youth Academy".
Dittoing last season's workframe, an integral part of all pre-season preparations will follow up in the Orobic Alps: "After treading waters for a few days in Zingonia, we'll spend a week in Serina for the pre-season boot camp: following along last year's lines, preparations will forge ahead in our valleys, where we enjoyed our time. These are truly team-building moments, which allow us to get everyone on board and to convey that common goals are the true catalyst of the team. We'll be playing some friendlies to be as well prepared as possible and to get ready for the beginning of the next season".
TECHNICAL STAFFING Head coach: Giovanni Bosi. Assistant coach: Marco Zanchi. Technical assistant: Matteo Parma. Goalkeepers' coach: Gabriele Manini. Athletic trainer: Emanuele Vit.
