Primavera, Bologna 1-2 Atalanta

Mouisse and Baldo inspired Atalanta’s comeback win over Bologna

A great comeback victory for coach Bosi's Atalanta Primavera: on Matchday 6 of the Primavera 1 championship “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” the Nerazzurri prevailed over Bologna with a final score of 2-1. This is the third win of the season and the sixth consecutive positive result for the Nerazzurri.

In Budrio, the match between Bologna and Atalanta began with Bosi’s side immediately pushing forward: first Bono cut inside from the left and fired a shot with the outside of his boot, but it was too easy for the home team’s goalkeeper to block the ball. Shortly after, just under 15 minutes into the game, Mencaraglia tried a shot from the edge of the box that sailed high and wide of the goal. The home side replied through Armanini, who attempted a left-footed strike from distance, but Zanchi made a fine save to tip it behind for a corner.

Ten minutes before halftime, Zanchi once again came to Atalanta’s rescue with a crucial save on Ferrari’s close-range attempt; on the rebound, Bologna failed to hit the target from the edge of the area. In the 41st minute, the Rossoblù took the lead through Ferrari from the penalty spot. At the “Zecchini,” the first half ended 1-0 for the home side.

In the second half, in the 68th minute, Atalanta came close to equalising with a placed right-footed shot from Baldo that brushed the post and went just wide. Bosi’s team kept attacking and gradually increased their intensity as the minutes passed. With 5 minutes to go, Mouisse levelled the match thanks to an excellent run down the left, finishing with a shot that kissed the post before finding the back of the net. In the 90th minute, Baldo secured the win for the Nerazzurri by converting from the penalty spot after a handball by a Bologna defender inside the area. In Budrio, Atalanta took all three points with a 2-1 victory.

On Tuesday, September 30 at 14 CEST, the Nerazzurri will face Club Brugge at the Comunale di Caravaggio (free admission) on 2025–26 UEFA Youth League Matchday 2, which will be broadcast live on UEFA TV.
