Primavera, Atalanta 4-1 Sampdoria
Black-and-blue rout courtesy of Cakolli, Simonetto, Riccio and Fiogbe
Back-to-back wins for Atalanta, who rolled past Sampdoria with a 4-1 landslide in the 2024/25 Primavera 1 "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti" MD35.
A boisterous start for the Nerazzurri, who struck gold only 7 minutes in with Cakolli: latching onto a weighted through pass from Fiogbe, coach Bosi's number 9 dashed goalward and then slotted it home coolly to wrongfoot Krastev. Keeping their foot on the throttle, the Nerazzurri strung together a handful of well-worked moves, but the second goal didn't show up. The Ligurians responded in the 24th minute, bringing a top-drawer intervention out of Pardel to keep a tricky header from Bacic out in the 24th. At the half-hour mark, Bonanomi earned a penalty after being charged down while looking to pull the trigger in the box. Stepping up from the spot, Simonetto made no mistake and made it 2-0 with his 10th of the season. Just minutes later, Riccio added to the tally, beating the blucerchiato keeper with a right-footer at the near post.
Trying to claw their way back in the game, Sampdoria opened the second half on the offensive, forcing Pardel into action with efforts from Hhaga and Ivkovic. At the other hand, Riccio almost snatched his second of the game, were it not for the Ligurian keeper, smothering his shot at the second attempt. On 63 minutes, Atalanta slammed the door shut as Fiogbe cut in and lashed it home at the near post to make it 4-0. Late on, Sampdoria grabbed a token goal through a Patrignani effort from distance. Full time in Zingonia and a 4-1 win for the Nerazzurri.
