Primavera: Atalanta 1-3 Roma

On Matchday 2 of the 2026/27 Primavera 1 “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” season, Roma claimed a 3-1 win at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia after a game in which the Nerazzurri created plenty of chances, particularly in the first half, but were punished by a clinical visiting side.

There was an early scare for the Nerazzurri defence as Morucci failed to make contact from close range. Atalanta went close to breaking the deadlock in the 19th minute when Ciapini picked out Fugazzola’s run, but the Giallorossi goalkeeper rushed off his line to deny him. The Nerazzurri threatened again in the 22nd minute: from Aliprandi’s corner, Cakolli won the aerial duel but his header skimmed the crossbar. Another chance followed four minutes later as Aliprandi broke down the left and saw his cross blocked by Kilvinger, before a defender beat Ciapini to the loose ball and prevented the tap-in. Roma, however, took the lead in the 29th minute through Morucci’s strike from the edge of the box. Atalanta responded immediately around the half-hour mark, with Ciapini first firing a dangerous low cross from the right that found no teammate before testing the goalkeeper with a powerful effort at the near post. The Nerazzurri went close to an equaliser in the 38th minute through Colombo, who was well picked out by Fugazzola only to be denied by Kilvinger. A minute later, Ciapini went even closer with a superb right-footed strike that crashed against the crossbar.

Roma doubled their lead early in the second half as Arena tapped home from close range, before adding a third in the 58th minute through Teixeira Falcetta’s angled drive. The Nerazzurri refused to give in, however, and pulled one back in the 80th minute when Cojocariu fired home with his right foot following a corner. Shortly afterwards, Marrone threatened with an angled effort before going close to making it 2-3, seeing his goal-bound strike blocked by a defender after a brilliant one-two with Frascolla. It finished 3-1 to Roma at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia.
