As the 2024-2025 Primavera 1 “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” league MD19 ended in a 1-1 draw in Alzano Lombardo, the Nerazzurri walked off the Carillo Pesenti Pigna stadium with a crucial point against Milan.
The match between Atalanta and Milan began with a high tempo, with the Nerazzurri coming close to taking the lead when Arrigoni saw his header denied by the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Bonanomi also had a chance, but his shot flew over the bar. Despite Milan's attempts at retaliation, Riccio was awarded a penalty in the 38th, which Simonetto converted with a precise left-footed strike into the bottom corner, giving Atalanta the lead.
Right after the onset of the second half Milan leveled the game through Paloschi, who nodded the rebound following Ossola's shot on the crossbar on 47 minutes. The Nerazzurri hit back immediately, though as Riccio came inches from turning the match around once again through a close-range right-footer, eventually denied by Longoni with a quick double-handed save. As the game neared its end, both teams turned up the heat, leaving it all on the field in their quest for three points, but at the Carillo Pesenti Pigna Stadium, the match ended all square at 1-1.
