Atalanta Primavera 1-0 Lazio

Coach Bosi's lads are off to a good start in the Primavera 1 TIM 2023-2024 “Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti” as Matchday 1 saw the Nerazzurri defeat Lazio at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia courtesy of Comi, who scored seconds prior to the halftime whistle.

After two quick-fire chances from Lazio within the 17th and 18th minute (namely, Sana Fernandes' cross-shot from the left side and Balde Balde's trick shot crossing the box finding no deflection) and Napolitano's bicycle kick flying past the crossbar on the 23rd; the Nerazzurri retorted: in the 30th minute with Lazio's keeper flapping away Regonesi's cross (followed by an opponent defender deflecting Martinelli's chance who was, albeit offside); on the 33rd, with Bonanomi's left-footed shot saved by Margo at the bottom corner and in the 36th, with Vlahović's point-blank chance to capitalise on Castiello's escapade from the right flank saved by the Biancoceleste goalie. On 44 minutes Ruggeri deflected Riccio's shot and in the 45th Atalanta found their scoring ways: following Manzoni's corner set piece, Comi got hold of the ball from the edge of the box and aimed at the near post, hammering his shot into the corner.

The Nerazzurri were off to a good second half, going inches away from doubling their lead: on 54 minutes, Riccio's free-kick lingered inches away from the top corner and in the 60th, when Vlahović, who slotted in Bonanomi's short, was flagged offside and disallowed the goal. In the 62nd minute, Lazio had their chance to level the playing field but the crossbar and Pardel's timely save neutralised Napolitano's volley. In the 66th minute, Atalanta also hit the post with Castiello, who loosened a curler following Riccio's pass. On 68 minutes Serra gave too much angle to his shot and missed the target.

Despite gaining increasingly more ground for counters in the closing minutes, Atalanta couldn't double their lead: as the final whistle filled the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia, the Nerazzurri Primavera imposed themselves 1-0.
