Primavera: Atalanta 0-1 Juventus
Setback for the Nerazzurri in Alzano
Matchday 30 of the 2023-2024 Primavera 1 TIM "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti" saw Atalanta Primavera come off worst as Juventus imposed themselves 1-0 at the Carillo Pesenti Pigna stadium in Alzano Lombardo.
Off to a menacing start, the Bianconeri threatened first, forcing Pardel to a double save, first on Owusu and then on Turco's tap-in, in the 14th minute. Juventus had another chance in the follow-up corner, as Mancini nodded the ball too wide to the side. Eventually, the away side broke the deadlock on 30 minutes courtesy of Anghele's angled finish.
As the Nerazzurri upped the ante in the second half, Bonanomi had a close brush with the goal right after the whistle from a free-kick attempt. 54 minutes in and Atalanta were back on the offensive, forcing Juventus to a last-ditch clearing to quell the resulting scrambles from Tornaghi and Castiello's tries. Livening up over time, the closing third of the second half was littered with chances from both sides: from Juventus almost doubling on 56 minutes as Boufandar's attempt was forced over the crossbar, to Bonanomi's free-kick hissing inches wide off target and Anghele's 59-minutes scorcher parried by Pardel. In an attempt to strike the iron while still hot, Atalanta pulled out all stops racking up chances with each passing minute: first went Manzoni, who finished Capac's through ball to the side netting on 60 minutes; followed by Vinarcik getting his gloves stung by Riccio's headed attempt on Fiogbe's nod in the 72nd minute. Then it was the turn of Capac, whose curler skimmed the top corner 76 minutes in, and Fiogbe, who saw his bicycle kick denied by a desperate goal-line clearance only 3 minutes later. Despite a much lively injury time with one goal chance each, neither team could eventually find their scoring ways: while Ngama missed the target in the one-on-one with Pardel, Fiogbe had his volley tipped over by the opposing keeper.
