Leandri and Colombo seal the Nerazzurri’s victory
The Nerazzurri Primavera side secured their first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over AlbinoLeffe at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti in Cologno al Serio.
It was a fiercely contested match from the outset, with Bosi’s side going close through Ciapini, whose effort was kept out by Generali, and Gasparello, who was denied by the AlbinoLeffe goalkeeper. Cakolli then sent Aliprandi’s delivery over the bar, while Sonzogni was called into action at the other end to save Riboni’s long-range effort. The deadlock was finally broken in the 41st minute, when Percassi slipped a ball through to Leandri. The forward won his duel and calmly beat Generali to give the Nerazzurri the lead.
AlbinoLeffe came out strongly after the break in search of an equaliser, but Bosi’s side defended resolutely and remained well organised, with Sonzogni making the saves when called upon. The Nerazzurri doubled their advantage in the 79th minute as Colombo finished off Fugazzola’s assist to make it 2-0. There was still time for a third, but Perillo sent his penalty over the bar in the 82nd minute after Fugazzola had been brought down inside the box.
The final whistle confirmed a 2-0 win for Atalanta, securing the first three points of the league campaign and providing the perfect preparation for Wednesday’s Super Cup final against Fiorentina in Milan.
