Starting off 2024 with 3 Serie A games and the Coppa Italia tie
Let's all welcome 2024, dear Atalantini fans! True to form, this New Year has vowed to bring you new and exciting chances to cheer for your black-and-blue heroes as part of its preposition and has no intention to go back on its own word. So much so that, in addition to a hasty wait, variety will be the name of the game this January: three Serie A games and a Coppa Italia tie await!
In a seamless transition with the year just ended, the Gewiss Stadium will be the first hotspot of 2024: this time, the black-and-blue fief will host Atalanta v Sassuolo, the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa RO16 tie scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, at 18:00 CET. On Sunday, January 7, the Nerazzurri will bring the first half of the season to its end playing Roma at the Olimpico stadium in a 20:45 CET kick-off.
Were Atalanta to defeat Sassuolo and punch their Coppa Italia Frecciarossa ticket to the next round, Gasperini's men would be playing the winning side from the Milan v Cagliari clash in the quarterfinals: while the match would be disputed at the Meazza stadium in case of a Milan win; were the Casteddu team to come out on top, the Nerazzurri would host Cagliari at the Gewiss Stadium. Even though dates and kick-off times for the quarter-finals are yet to be confirmed, the matches are bound to take place within the week following our clash against Roma.
To usher in the 2023-24 Serie A TIM second round, Atalanta will host Frosinone for the Monday late match to kick off at 20:45 CET on the 15th of January. Then, the Nerazzurri will skip a turn: due to Inter taking part in the Italian Supercup, the Meazza road game against "La Beneamata" has been postponed to February 28 at 20:45 CET. Lastly, Gasperini's men will tick the last box in the January "to-do list" on Saturday 27/1, hosting Udinese at 15:00 CET in Bergamo.
That's all for the first page of 2024, folks!
