Nicola Beati: “We needed to play at a higher tempo”
The Nerazzurri coach's post-match comments
At the end of the match against Ravenna, coach Nicola Beati commented: “We wanted to play at a higher tempo, but we weren’t able to do that. We were a little low on both physical and mental energy. It wasn’t the game we had planned to play and Ravenna did better than us.”
He continued: “They did well to control the tempo of the game and we were hardly ever in control. We had a chance through Camara at 1-0, but I really felt we were missing something. It’s part of the process: now we need to recharge our batteries and bounce back.”
He concluded: “Ravenna deserve a lot of credit: they have a great deal of experience, with players who have won leagues and played at higher levels, and today they made that experience count. They were comfortable in a game like this. Our shortcoming was that we weren’t able to play the game we had prepared: we should have been more organised. Here at Atalanta, we have the ideal conditions to work. I’m fortunate to be part of a historic Club that provides me with everything I need.”
