Nicola Beati: “An important test for the lads”

After the win over Pescara, Coach Nicola Beati commented: “The game played out as we expected. We were up against one of the top three teams in the league, so it was an important test for the lads. We knew we would have to suffer and we prepared for that, but we also knew that if we could hold firm, we would get our chances. When we found ourselves in difficulty, after conceding the goal, we produced a great reaction. That was the best part of our performance and I’m very happy with it. The substitutes did very well today too, and that’s something I care a lot about.”

He concluded: “I can see plenty of room for improvement in this team. If we maintain this attitude and approach, we can make great strides and that will take us in the right direction. Against teams this strong, it’s understandable to be a little ‘tentative’ at first: it’s important for the lads to test themselves against players of this calibre. I liked the fact that we were prepared to dig in right until the end and came away with all three points.”
